Master Program: Warsaw Executive MBA (WEMBA)
Learning purpose
Offered jointly by the Warsaw School of Economics and the University of Minnesota this 18-month (4-semester) programme, taught partially in English and Polish, is constructed based on a classical American MBA program supplemented with subjects on issues typical for the Polish economy.
The "leitmotiv" of the program is the strategy of sustainable business development with the special focus put on:
- information and knowledge advantages
- transformation, innovation, entrepreneurship and corporate venturing
- value building in three perspectives: economic, social and environmental competitiveness
- risk handling and financial management
- cross-cultural sensitivity and cooperation
Target audience
The WEMBA programme is addressed to senior and medium level management.
Graduation variants
WEMBA programme alumni receive an MBA title and diploma awarded by the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management and certificates of completing post-graduate studies at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH).
Programme
During the first three semesters, students acquaint themselves with basic management issues. In the fourth semester, they select a specialization, participate in the Global Residency Session and carry out a field project for a selected company.
1st semester: Interdisciplinary introduction to business
2nd semester: Advanced techniques of effective management
3rd semester: Management in complex situations
4th semester: Specialization
Altogether 750 teaching hours
Entry Requirements
The following candidates may apply for participation in the program:
• master-level degree graduates,
• with a fluent knowledge of Polish and English
• with at least 3 years of professional experience
(including at least six months at an independent post).
The qualification proceedings include:
• an English language test (TOEFL level),
• a psychological test (StrengthsFinder by The Gallup Organization),
• an interview.
