Although Bocconi is an elite university, it is not elitist. It has always backed and practiced a policy of equal opportunity. Our teachers and students are proud to be part of this history and these feelings last a lifetime.
SDA Bocconi was established as Bocconi University’s School of Management (Scuola di Direzione Aziendale in Italian) in 1971, the first year the full-time MBA program was offered. Since its inception, SDA Bocconi has emerged as Italy’s leading management school and as one of the most prestigious management schools in Europe and the world. SDA Bocconi is dually focused on the Italian and international market and aims to train the next generation of global managers, economists, researchers and academics. Global Executive MBA
The SDA Bocconi Global Executive MBA is designed for experienced managers who are not able to take time away from the marketplace. The program is two years in duration (January to the following December), and is structured around twelve week long on-campus modules that are combined with distance-learning activities. Currently, ten lecture weeks occur at SDA Bocconi in Milan, one lecture week occurs at the UCLA Anderson School of Management in Los Angeles and one lecture week occurs at Fudan University in Shanghai. Over the course of the program, participants attend on-campus modules for a total of sixty days and take part in over 150 distance-learning sessions. On average, we find that participants need to devote an average weekly workload of ten to fifteen hours to successfully complete the program. The program is committed to keeping a small class size in order to facilitate deeper interactions during lectures and seminars.
The program is divided into four blocks, culminating in a Concentration Block allowing students to focus on their particular area(s) of interest which currently include:
- Innovation and Entrepreneurial Management
- Financial and Investment Decision Making
- Global Market and International Supply Chain Management
- Fashion Experience and Design
- Small and Medium Enterprises and Family Business
Applicants to the Global Executive MBA must have at least five years professional experience (preferably with some management experience) and be at least thirty years of age. Applicants are required to submit a GMAT result (there is no minimum requirement but the SDA Bocconi average is 660) and after an initial review of application materials a select number of applicants will be invited for an admission interview which will help to determine the final decision. The interview can be scheduled in Milan or in a candidate’s home country.
