AIMS
This degree programme aims to enable the practising midwife to study a postgraduate degree pathway which has been planned by the student themselves and which reflects academic and
professional development needs in line with the usual requirements for postgraduate level study. The open framework structure aims to facilitate pathway specialisation where possible and if desired.
CONTENT
This postgraduate programme enables the practising midwife to plan an individualised pathway of post graduate study designed to meet previously identified midwifery related professional
and service development objectives. The successful student will be able to demonstrate mastery in midwifery related skills and knowledge in order to contribute to enhanced professional midwifery practice, research and service development.
Target audience
This programme is suitable for any practising graduate midwife.
Entry Requirements
A good Honours degree (2:2 or above) in midwifery or a related subject area and be working as a midwife or have recent midwifery experience i.e. within the last year and acceptable, recognisable professional registration. Exceptionally, students who do not have a degree but who have successfully completed level 4 CPD modules or who can provide evidence of their ability to pursue successfully the PG Diploma or MSc may be considered
