Learning purpose
The International Finance masters is specifically designed for economics or finance graduates who want to gain advanced knowledge of international finance, portfolio and investment management, risk management and multinational corporate finance.
You will achieve an understanding of the main areas of international finance, economics and investment together with a practical knowledge of key quantitative concepts and skills. In particular, the MSc International Finance draws on the latest thinking, in terms of academic developments and research, and current topical understanding of financial institutions.
Programme
The global integration of financial markets has made it imperative for multinational firms, investment banks, institutional investors, fund managers and corporate finance executives to have a thorough understanding of the theory and practice of international finance.
The material currently taught on the MSc International Finance covers several of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) subject areas, such as Fixed Income Investments (Basic concepts), Fixed Income Investments: Analysis and Valuation, Derivative Instruments, Corporate Finance, and Economics: Global Economic Analysis.
Furthermore the modules Corporate Finance and Portfolio Management and International Finance and Risk Management cover large elements of material contained in the syllabuses of the Association of Corporate Treasurers' Certificate in Financial Mathematics & Modelling and Certificate in International Treasury Management.
Throughout the International Finance masters at Middlesex you will develop advanced skills in financial modelling, econometric analysis of financial data and quantitative risk management techniques, with particular emphasis on the international dimension.

Entry Requirements
Normally a second class honours degree or above in economics, or an overseas equivalent qualification. We will also consider applicants with honours degrees in subjects including business studies, accounting, mathematics, computing science or engineering - particularly if you have experience in quantitative analysis.
English language requirements
You must have competence in English language and we normally require Grade C GCSE or an equivalent qualification. The most common English Language requirements for international students are IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL (paper based) 575 or TOEFL (internet based) 90 with specified minimum scores for each component.
