Learning purpose
This course is an excellent preparation for a financial career in a diverse range of business organisations. Designed for students with no prior qualifications in accounting or finance, it focuses on accounting techniques and financial tools and their impact on the day-to-day management of operational and corporate affairs.
The Financial Management Masters offers a range of modules enabling you to concentrate on the most relevant and topical areas in the field. The emphasis of the financial management masters throughout is to impart key skills and to relate understanding of financial management issues to the real world.
You will develop the technical skills needed to interpret and critically evaluate financial statements and apply decision-making skills to complex situations.
You can start this course in October or January. Full-time students usually attend three days a week and part-time students, two days a week.

Your knowledge and understanding is assessed through a combination of presentations, group and individual coursework and written examinations.

If you have not studied accounting and finance but have a keen interest in the subject and intend to broaden your career opportunities then this is an excellent course for you. The course will provide you with a comprehensive grounding in financial management. The emphasis of the course throughout is to impart both key skills and to relate understanding of financial management issues to the real world. Entry Requirements
Normally a second class honours degree or above, or an overseas equivalent qualification. We will consider all applications with a non-accounting background - all essential areas are covered on the course.

English language requirements
You must have competence in English language and we normally require Grade C GCSE or an equivalent qualification. The most common English Language requirements for international students are IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in all four components) or TOEFL paper based 575 (no less than 4.5 in test of written English) or TOEFL internet based 90 (with no less than 19 in each component) Middlesex also offers an Intensive Academic English course (Pre-Sessional) that ranges from 5-17 weeks, depending on your level of English. Successful completion of this course would meet English language entry requirements.
