Opleiding: Research Methods and Skills
Learning purpose
Academic institutions in developing countries in general face the need to strengthen research competencies and outputs, as the next frontier, after the improved educational delivery. Research competencies and skills are essential for the effective conduct of research. Development of research competencies of academic staff is an integral element of the process of the strengthening of the faculty. This is the more so, however, for junior academics, entering into position, as development of research competencies is inevitably linked to their career track. Although a limited part of the (junior) academic staff eventually may enroll into Doctoral study tracks, through international scholarship schemes, many need to be trained and facilitated outside these Doctoral tracks. The program will fill the gap for particular academic skills and will allow the kick-starting of research activities of (starting) academics in Universities in developing countries.
