Maastricht School of Management
Maastricht School of Management

MEET THE WORLD IN YOUR CLASSROOM!
For more than half a century, the Maastricht School of Management has fostered international cooperation through education, technology and research. With over 2500 students graduating in more than 30 countries annually, the Maastricht School of Management is the largest and most globally active business school in the Netherlands.
Over 55 years of teaching experience in a historical and international environment
The Maastricht School of Management has its roots in the Institute for Management Science at the Technical University in Delft, dating back to 1952. In 1989, the school moved to the historical city of Maastricht. The city has fantastic business, political and cultural resources, and was made famous by playing host to European leaders in 1992 as they signed the treaty which set up the European Union.
The ambience of MSM is extremely international, partly because Maastricht itself is a very international city, a short hop away from all the major European capitals; and partly because MSM's students come from all over the world. The campus is small and friendly, with committed, supportive staff.
There are about 90 MBA and 30 MSc students on campus, but the school runs several outreach programmes in more than 25 countries, making it the largest international business school in the Netherlands: more than 2,000 students graduate each year. Thanks to the outreach programmes, MSM has lots of international connections. Students can enroll on MSM courses in Africa, Asia and the Middle East as well as Europe. The school offers high-quality management degree programmes (MBA, MSc, EMBA, global distance MBA, DBA and PhD) as well as executive education. It also carries out management development research and international projects.

Maastricht is an ideal location due to its rich business, political and cultural resources, as well as its close proximity to other major European cities and countries. Additionally, the Information Center is networked to other university libraries, making it a truly global reference center, and the student residence is conveniently located next to the School’s main building.
Added Value
Unique to the Maastricht School of Management is the emphasis on working efficiently and effectively in multicultural groups, an invaluable skill for the modern manager. Group members are carefully selected in order to maximize the learning opportunity in an environment that fosters collaboration with fellow members from different cultures and backgrounds. In addition, because it runs outreach programmes all over the world, Maastricht School of Management's professors are constantly globetrotting to teach MSM students overseas – so students benefit from an international exchange of knowledge.

Management Information Systems
The e-Business is the buzzword of the late 1990s. Beyond the hype around the e-Business and the related e-Words lies the real potential of a revolution triggered by the advances in the Information Technology (IT) and the Internet. The Focus Segment on e-Business has been designed to provide the new generation executives with the tools, techniques, and insights necessary to make them key players in this revolution.
Corporate Strategy and Economic Policy
This specialization is designed to provide participants with a firm conceptual and analytical foundation for economic policy-making and managerial decision-making in complex environments. The concept of strategy is discussed in the broad framework of economic policy, technology development and transfer, government regulations, and a globally competitive environment.
Hotel Management
The hotel and tourism industries are the fastest growing industries in the world. As a result, professional managers who are knowledgeable about these industries are in great demand throughout the world. This specialization is designed for individuals already working in the industry or who are seeking to pursue a career in the hotel industry, the hotel supplying industry or in the tourism industry.
International Business
Success in todays global business climate demands highly specialized global business managers. Rapid contemporary changes in economic policies and structures, including the globalization of industries and markets, are driving countries, organizations and individuals toward the search for a competitive edge. Executives who are fulfilling a managerial task, or who are performing a managerial role in our business structure today, will require a broad mix of skills that may differ considerably from traditional wisdom. Without these skills they may not be able either to gain or maintain the competitive advantage essential for success.
