Learning purpose

The International Executive MBA Bi-weekly is aimed at professionals with relevant experience, who wish to combine high-level academic training with their professional and personal lives.

 

Even though International Executive MBA Bi-weekly Program students already occupy top-level positions, this program aims to complete their overall vision, developing the skills they need to lead teams and participate in strategic decision making. This is achieved through interaction and collaboration with other students, who offer extensive experience in other areas and sectors.

 

The new International Executive MBA Bi-weekly gives professionals the opportunity to update their knowledge, covering an innovative range of subjects which make up the new knowledge map that executives need both to succeed in global business and to create and execute strategies within the concept of the extended enterprise.

For this reason, following a rigorous admissions process, we can assure you that you will be sharing the experience with top professionals from different sectors and functions, and from all different types of company: multinationals, small firms, start-ups, etc. We take a lot of care when selecting student profiles for each program to ensure a rich and diverse group, thereby helping students maximize their learning experiences in the different classes that make up the program.

 

Programme

Students learn and deliver results through small workgroups. The curriculum relies on the case method to drive learning, combined with multimedia business simulations, guest speakers and the study and analysis of real companies in the real world. The workgroups are designed to challenge each student to adapt, manage and succeed. A workgroup of 6-7 students will include people from different continents, cultures, professional backgrounds and experience. Diversity is key to learning at IE, as it exemplifies the reality of the extended enterprise.

 

Before starting the first period, students have the opportunity to carry out pre-program online courses in management accounting and financial accounting, which are available for 3 months prior to the start of the program.

 

The program starts with orientation days (including workshops on the case method, cross-cultural understanding, networking, ethics, and collaborative skills) which help International Executive MBA Bi-weekly students prepare themselves for the course.

 

In order for students to achieve a global perspective, the first period is focused on the global business context. In the second period, students create and develop business strategies, and the program concludes with the third period, in which these strategies are executed and implemented.

 

Entry Requirements

To be considered for admission, a candidate must have successfully completed the following prior to submission:

 

• A Bachelor's degree at an accredited college/university or equivalent (this requirement may be waived in the case of candidates with exceptional professional experience).
• Approximately ten years professional experience, including a minimum of three years managerial experience.
• A complete application for evaluation by the Admissions Committee, including all supporting documents.

 

Candidates for the International Executive MBA Bi-weekly must also demonstrate the following qualities:

 

• Professional achievements
• Leadership potential
• A high level of English

 

IE Business School operates a rolling process and as such there is no deadline for applications for a particular intake. However, given the limited number of places on the program, we recommend that you initiate the application process in advance.
