All excerpts from monumental speeches that have moved people to action. Yet how many talks have you attended recently that have influenced you, whether it was the presentation of a marketing plan, a sales pitch, an IPO roadshow, your company’s annual convention, or a stockholders meeting?
Presentations today are mostly nothing to write home about. But what you say, how you say it, and how you make it relevant to the audience, can turn an idea into a power horse. And many ideas are dumped daily because their originators do not present them in a dynamic and convincing way. Presentation skills rank among the most practical for executives: nothing will give you a more immediate competitive edge than the ability to communicate orally in a fluent and confident manner.
