Master Program: Masters in Management (AMMT)

Learning purpose

The learning is focused around key themes of People, Processes and Perspectives that is integral to all three stages of the Pathways programme. Both the Certificate and Diploma stages include a face-to-face element, as well as an element of self-directed study. The MSc stage consists of a self-directed project, supported by an Ashridge project supervisor.

The entire programme is supported and underpinned by resources from Ashridge's Virtual Learning Resource Centre, which provides online insight globally to over a quarter of a million professionals. Delivered in audio, video and text formats virtual resources are complemented by key readings from programme faculty. Additionally, with the ability to join a Virtual Learning Support Group to help guide you through the programme, our approach offers the flexibility to learn in a way that works for you, 24/7 from anywhere in the world.

Target audience

This innovative new programme offers participants of Ashridge Open and Tailored Executive Education the opportunity to build on their learning to achieve a recognised qualification. Participants can select their preferred pathway to a qualification according to their own developmental goals.

Graduation variants

There are three key stages to achieving the Pathways Masters: Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma and Masters (MSc). Participants need to pass through each stage sequentially to progress, and can choose to graduate with a Postgraduate Certificate or a Postgraduate Diploma at the end of each stage if they do not wish to graduate at full Masters level.

Programme

Stage One: Postgraduate Certificate in Management

Students are required to undertake five days' face-to-face learning at Ashridge. They must also submit six assignments (2500 words each), where the necessary learning takes place in their own organisation supported by a custom-built virtual learning environment. Learning previously undertaken at Ashridge through Open or Tailored programmes can be credited towards part or all of the face-to-face element.

Stage Two: Postgraduate Diploma in Management

Having completed the Certificate, students who choose to pursue the Diploma are required to submit three more assignments (5000 words each), where again learning takes place in their own organisation supported by the virtual learning environment. Learning previously undertaken face-to-face at Ashridge through Open or Tailored programmes which is not offered as accredited prior learning for the Certificate can be credited towards part or all of the face-to-face element of the Diploma.

Stage Three: Masters in Management (MSc)

Students who successfully complete the Diploma may register for the Masters in Management. This stage requires participants to undertake a project and produce a report/dissertation of 10,000 words.

Entry Requirements

This programme has been designed predominantly for working professionals who have completed executive education programmes at Ashridge within the past five years (or who intend to participate on such programmes), and who wish to convert their prior learning into a qualification.
