Ashridge MBA Programmes

The Ashridge MBA is special in several ways:

World-class reputation

Ashridge is one of a handful of schools worldwide to achieve triple accreditation from AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB; the UK, European and American accreditation bodies for quality MBA programmes. Our MBA is consistently ranked within the UK top 10 and the European top 25 by The Economist and the Financial Times.

Focus on application

The MBA project goes beyond theory by giving you the opportunity to put into practice all that you have learned via a strategic consulting assignment for a client organisation or for your employer. Live cases are employed throughout the programme to ensure learning is continuously relevant and applied.

Individual attention

Small class sizes ensure you benefit from individual attention and an interactive learning style. Classroom sessions are highly participative, favouring an exchange of ideas and information to enrich peer group learning. Ashridge MBA participants have significant business experience, which creates one of the most experienced full-time MBA cohorts in the business school world.

Innovative curriculum

The world of business is not a tidy arrangement of subjects. The reality is that issues cut across the business and across functions. The Ashridge MBA is not delivered in functional silos - the syllabus takes an integrated and thematic view of business.

We recognise that experienced managers learn best in a variety of ways. We use lectures, facilitated discussions, experiential learning, psychometric instruments, one-to-one feedback, e-learning, live case studies, simulations, consulting assignments, coaching, guest speakers, self-managed learning and organisational visits.

Unique learning environment

Ashridge is located just 30 minutes from central London. It is set in 150 acres of English parkland - a stunning learning environment steeped in history containing some of the best teaching facilities a business school can provide. The ideal place to reflect on personal development and focus on your learning.

Two Pathways: EMBA and MBA

The Ashridge MBA is offered through two different pathways – a Two-year Executive MBA and a One-year Full-time MBA. Both programmes are designed for experienced professionals and participants typically demonstrate an average of 12 years' experience. Both cohorts are diverse in nature, with participants from a range of cultural backgrounds and industry sectors. Participants benefit from the same highly international faculty, a teaching and learning philosophy which believes in blending theory and practice and emphasises an interactive classroom experience.

The Two-year Part-time Executive MBA

starts in September and requires participants to attend 12 modules of study on campus, primarily made up of one-week blocks. Participants tend to be company-sponsored and are looking for growth within their existing organisations.

The One-Year Full-time MBA

starts in January and participants are required to spend 22 weeks on campus over the year. MBA participants are usually self-sponsored and are seeking to broaden their horizons and to re-invent their careers.

MBA Participant Quotes

Nausherwan Akram (Pakistani),
Full Time MBA

Marketing and Economic Analyst, ESAB, UK

The smaller class sizes at Ashridge also appealed to me as it meant I would get more personal attention - Ashridge is a magnetic place and you feel that people really care about you as an individual. Finally the fact that the content is so practical, delivered by tutors with real life, up-to-date industry experience, was a key selling point. All of this no doubt explains why Ashridge has a triple accreditation and a first class reputation in leadership! Doing the Ashridge MBA was the best decision I have ever made.

Grace Young (Chinese),

Full Time MBA

Vice President (Investment Banking Audit), JP Morgan, UK

I chose Ashridge for a number of reasons. Firstly, the smaller class sizes with more mature participants - the average age in my cohort was 35. Also the fact that Ashridge consistently ranks highly in publications like The Economist and Financial Times. Finally because Ashridge faculty actually work in the industry, which makes the MBA very practical.

Mark Anderson (British),
Executive Part Time MBA

Managing Director, Sky Ireland

I have been rapidly promoted... thanks to the EMBA and the broad business skills it gave me. My salary has increased 2.5 times since I started the EMBA, so the personal ROI is tremendous.

Zoe Farmer (British),
Executive Part Time MBA

Head of In-Terminal Commercial Stansted at BAA, UK

Between modules you have time to reflect on further areas for improvement which I found useful. There is a good balance of technical and theoretical insights and the faculty are good at drawing out examples from the group which really brings the content alive and helps ensure it is fully in tune with reality. The return on investment from my Ashridge EMBA is huge and goes far beyond financial gain.
